The Shiitake mushroom grows across many of the Asian countries on rotting hardwood trees. Like most fungi, it only grows when the conditions are right.
Part of our Winter 25 capsule, 'take your time', this Shiitake serves as a metaphor for patience and slow living. In light of the theme, this artwork was hand sketched and painted in watercolour by a talented overseas artist. It was then digitised and prepared for print by a local graphic designer.
